SECOND DAY of Cape to Cape Track
from Mt. Duckworth Campsite to Moses Rock Campsite

This day has: a several walks in beach sand, river crossing, rock scrambling, single line trail along the cliffs and 4WD track walk with few sun covered sections.

This track connects to:

Yallingup Beach

(Beach Number: wa0716) The main beach extends north of the car park for 1.3 km to the beginning of a section of steep calcarenite bluffs and backing slopes. The reef area provides good surf, but is hazardous for swimmers. The main settlement back the southern part of the beach, with benches + picnic area + toilet + showers + water + rubbish bins + car park. Near to general store, hotels and restaurants. Canal Rock Apartments

Just after Smith Beach walk, this beachfront apartment has tap water + beach showers in front every apartment. Nobody seems to care if you make a stop to refill your water or even take a quick shower after a cool dip. Follow the sealed road until the Smith Point Carpark, where the trail continues.

Moses Rock Campsite

Dry Toilet + 2 Water Tanks + 2 Wooden Table NO rubbish disposal - NO fireplace - NO car access The campsite is on right side of the track. It is impossible to miss! There is space for up to 10 small tents (4-5 in a small covered area), but few spots for big tents.

Injidup Beach

(Beach Number: wa0706) The main Injidup Beach commences on the western side of the small point and curves round to the northeast then north for 1.6 km to Mitchell’s Rock. Few rocks are also located along the southern and centre of the beach, with a unstable foredune against the backing slopes up to the rock.

Quininup Beach

(Beach Number: wa0697) Quininup Beach is 1.1 km and extends to both sides of Quininup Brook mouth, with continuous intertidal rock platforms fronting the beach. It is backed by active dunes climbing the slopes to either side of the creek, in places rising to 70 m and extending 500 m inland.

Smiths Beach

(Beach Number: wa0712) This is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the area offering both consistent beach and several reef breaks. A small settlement in the south and of Smith Beach, has water, toilets and rubbish bins. There is also beach resorts, hotel and restaurants nearby. Cross Quinninup Brook and continue the sand walking along the beach. Cold ankle high water during the winter with relevant falls 500m inland, near the red sand blowout (an aboriginal relevant ground).

Cross Gunyulgup Brook and continue the sand walking along the beach. Cold and fresh water (away from the mouth), knee high during the winter.

Follow the sealed road until this car park. The trail continues in the very end of it, along the cliffs. The next part, until the Canal Rock, the trail going near the cliff in a poorly marked trail full of rock scrambling.
