Relatively easy walk around Bures, we started at the Beehive Inn in Little Horkesley. The trail follows two marked paths the Stour Valley Path and the St Edmund Way.
At Wormingford Church you can see the stained glass window that shows a modern interpretation of the Dragon legend.
There is an outstanding view from the top of the Hill towards Bures. The Mill on the Stour just before Bures is reminiscent of Constable paintings. Bures offers two pubs.
Beyond Bures there is St Edmund's Chapel and the Dragon on the Hill. Alone these would both the be worth a visit. In St Edmund's Chapel (if open) are sleeping warriors from the time of Agincourt. See pictures.
Finally Wiston (or Wissington) Church contains a 14th century depiction of the dragon.
The walk is part of the Dedham Vale and Stour Valley Project and all credit should go to them. To see further pictures of this trail look for the Dragon Walk. This trail corrects two wrong turns on the original trail. I'm loath to delete the other trails at it has further pictures.
