Male, 58 y.o., retired molecular biologist. Trail/mountain running is my major interest right now. I got into it a couple of years ago when a friend of my brother invited me to join him for a run. I did it, actually using my minimalistic road running shoes, and definitively, it was love at first sight. Previously, my favorite activity was MTB, which I still keep doing, alternating it with my mountain runs. My runs take place mostly in the Sibillini's national park, on the central Italian Appennine mountaineous range. I'm based in a small village, Fiastra, conveniently located inside of the park. I try to run 4-5 times a week. I'm not interested in competing and my runs are short/medium range (averaging 2-3 hrs), but on difficult and steep terrain (with 1K or more of elevation gain for each run). I'm definitively not in the ultrarunning thing which seems to be so popular these days. Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to join in for a run in my neck of the woods!
