Last week the river experience was just too good, I had to go back. No accident this time and we did the trail completely. Only this time we went by bus to Bomura, so we had to go down towards Shiga station.
There were even more nice spots to go into the water and the waterfalls I missed last week were even better than the 2 other ones. In spite of a few stretches with rocks and (superfluous) ropes this hike is pretty easy.
The way down from the top of the gondola (which is crowded with families) is comparatively 100 times less interesting than the way along the river. Indeed the trial is completely sheltered from the sun, absolutely no views, rather dark and most of all the trail is littered with rocks which makes the descend uninteresting. The best solution is by far to rent a car, go to Bomura and walk around a loop, also taking a rather cold bath(some Japanese can't even dip their feet more than 3 seconds) is worth the trip as itself.
