Beschreibung der Reiseroute

An interesting hike with loads of colourful geology. The hike up the wadi can be tough in parts with lots of rock hopping and even some climbing. Depending on the time of year, some parts may be difficult or even inaccessible due to water.

The ascent route I used to reach the ridge wasn’t great so explore an alternative if confident enough.

Stunning views afforded at the top back down towards Ghub and over Dibba.

Wegpunkte

Abandoned Road

Proceed up the wadi using the abandoned road for guidance. It is a much easier walk than hopping over the boulders below.

End of the Road

The old road seemingly ends here having been washed away by the wadi. Continue up the wadi being careful to pick your route in advance. At the time of writing, the right side is more accessible.

Colourful Canyon

As you reach the colourful section of rocks as the path narrows, you are possibly going to be halted by water. If you cannot proceed up the canyon, look to the left. If you squint hard enough, you can just about see the remnants of an old path that goes up and over. Take this route and continue up the wadi.

Flat Wadi

After many tricky jumps and scrambles, the wadi flattens out and appears for an inviting hike ahead.

Ascent

Take great care as you pick your way out of the wadi and begin to climb. There are some sections that will require some upper body strength to pull yourself up.

Gully

Rejoin the gully and continue heading up.

First Peak & Ridge

Finally, you have made it to the top of the ridge. Head northeast along the ridge from here.

Cairns

Navigate your way through the outcrops of rock using the stone cairns to help you find a path.

UAE Flag

A solitary flag fixed to a cane flies here. There is a very flat area suitable for camping.
